Learning Enrichment
Supporting every student to reach their full potential, both in the classroom and beyond.
At St Michael’s, we believe academic success starts with understanding how each student learns best. Learning enrichment is embedded across every classroom, ensuring all students are supported and challenged according to their abilities and needs. Our Learning Enrichment program provides additional academic assistance for students who need it, while offering high-achieving students opportunities to extend their skills and reach their full potential.
Pathways for Advanced Learning and Growth
We offer targeted enrichment pathways for students looking for additional academic challenge:
- Year 9 Enrichment-specific classes in Science and Mathematics
- Streamed classes across key learning areas to support both extension and targeted academic development
- Curriculum enrichment streams across the four core subjects: Science, Mathematics, English and Humanities
Academic Care and Learning Support
Our Academic Care model ensures that no student slips through the cracks.
- Each student is supported by a dedicated Learning Tutor (House Tutor), who monitors academic progress and wellbeing
- Continuous reporting provides families and staff with real-time access to a learning dashboard
- Student growth measures are closely monitored, enabling Learning Tutors to identify patterns, respond early and personalise support
- Our strong focus on student growth — including positive NAPLAN growth outcomes — reflects our commitment to individual progress rather than one-size-fits-all benchmarks
