Who is eligible for a sports Scholarship?
Sports Scholarships are open to students entering Year 5-11. Both new and existing students may apply for the High Achiever Scholarship, while the Contributing Citizen Scholarship is only open to new students.
Are Scholarships offered in all sports?
Sports Scholarships are open to students excelling in any sport, with selection based on demonstrated skill, commitment, and potential.
Can current students apply?
Yes, but only for the High Achiever sports Scholarship. Unfortunately, current students cannot apply for Contributing Citizen Scholarships.
Are sports Scholarships means-tested?
Means-testing is optional for both High Achiever and Contributing Citizen Scholarships. However, in keeping with our commitment to assist students who otherwise may not be able to benefit from a St Michael’s education, we strongly recommend applying for means-testing.
How long do Scholarships last?
Scholarships are awarded from the year of entry until the completion of Year 12, subject to ongoing progress and commitment. Student progress is formally reviewed at the end of Year 6 and Year 9.
Can students apply for multiple Scholarship categories?
Applicants may indicate the Scholarship category they wish to apply for; however, students may be considered for either High Achiever or Contributing Citizen Scholarships.
When will applicants be notified?
Outcome notifications are provided after consideration of the application, trials, and interviews. Exact dates are communicated each year; however, applicants are normally notified around March the year before the Scholarship is set to commence.
