The St Michael’s Grammar School Extended Tuition Program (ETP) offers students a valuable opportunity to develop their skills, interests, and talents beyond the classroom. The school currently provides a range of before and after-school programs for students from ELC – Year 12. Building on the program’s success, we are committed to expanding our offerings each year to meet the evolving needs and interests of our students. 2026 program offerings are listed below.

STEAM Programs

Coding and AI (Years 7 – 10)

This hands‑on program empowers students to become creators of AI by learning Python and using OpenAI’s tools to build real‑world projects such as AI study helpers, audiobook makers and intelligent writing assistants. Students develop future‑focused skills including prompt engineering, ethical technology use and confidence with innovation, preparing them for further study and careers in an AI‑driven world. 

Activity and Movement Programs

Hip Hop (Year 6 - 9) 

These energetic Hip Hop Dance classes give students a dynamic space to express themselves, build technical skills and connect through movement in a fun, inclusive environment. Led by professional instructors, sessions develop confidence, strength, musicality and performance skills through creative choreography and foundational hip hop techniques.  

Self Defence (Year 4 - 12) 

Students will learn practical self-defence skills in a safe and supportive setting, no fitness or experience needed. The focus of this program is centred on enabling young people to building confidence, awareness, and empowerment wherever they go. 

Speech and Language

Future Leaders Program (Year 5 - 7) 

This one‑off, seven‑week Future Leaders Program helps students build confidence, strengthen communication skills and develop practical leadership abilities through focused learning and practice. Students work towards a polished leadership presentation while developing public speaking, teamwork, decision‑making and self‑management skills in a supportive environment. 

Creative Arts

Creative Cooking (Year 5 - 8) 

The Creative Cooking Program inspires a love of healthy, simple and flavoursome home cooking through fun, hands‑on sessions using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Students build confidence and essential life skills as they learn food safety, sustainability and how to prepare nutritious meals that are good for both their bodies and the planet.
