Market Stall Success

Our Year 10 Business and Entrepreneurship students ran successful Market Stalls on campus last Friday, 28 October.

The theme of the Market Stalls was ‘gift-giving’ which saw students develop their businesses around the idea that customers would buy these products as gifts for someone else.

Many wonderful gifts were available for purchase, including candles, t-shirts, bouncy balls, Christmas tree ornaments, art and craft supplies, pot plants and DIY potting kits, and pet accessories including pet outfits, bow ties and chew toys.

Throughout the Business and Entrepreneurship elective, students learned accounting skills to construct and interpret financial statements, as well as understand the economic concepts of supply and demand and how both price and non-price factors can impact a market.

Students have also learned to implement marketing strategies and developed an understanding of supply chain management and operational organisation. Due to the project-based nature of this elective, students were also required to utilise their decision-making skills, teamwork, adaptability, and proactivity.

We commend these students on creating, implementing and running successful market stalls, many of which sold out of their products.
