Embracing the wintry weather on Tuesday, our Years 3-6 students were excited and determined to do their best at the House Athletics Carnival.
The students all demonstrated immense House spirit and there was a wonderful atmosphere as the students competed for their Houses and supported one another.
Year 6 student Sam took on the role of a reporter on the day and wrote the below reflection about the event.
The 2019 House Athletics Carnival By Sam (6A)
The 2019 House Athletics Carnival started off raining with barely a shimmer of light, like usual in winter.
The stands filled with all four Houses ready to get down to the track to start their races.
Students from Years 3 to 6 had the opportunity to participate in track and field events such as running, relay, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put and discus, and there were many ribbons on display by the end of the day.
Lots of students dressed in their House colours and there was great House spirit on display.
Due to two events being postponed we were not able to announce the winner. The events will be held later this week and the winning House will be announced at Assembly on Thursday 15 August.
Congratulations also to all students who put in their best effort on the day, including those who won a place in their event.
Also, a HUGE thank you to all the teachers who organised the day.
It was a fantastic day of celebration and we would like to thank all our wonderful staff members who helped to make this event such an enjoyable experience for the students.
