PCA Spring Kitchen Garden Working Bee

03 Sep, 2022 @ 9:00am - 11:00am
Frank Woods House 8 Redan St, St Kilda VIC 3182

Our Kitchen Garden sustains our community in many ways:

  • It provides a learning space for St Michael’s students.
  • It is utilised as a place for students to hold events.
  • Stay tuned for the launch of our student Garden Club

“Our goal is to make the garden into a learning space for the children – for example, the Year 1 Unit of Enquiry ‘Farm to Plate’ where they see the plants growing and experience the harvest on a lunchtime pizza. It is a garden to provide sustenance and ambience. I envisage an area of Frank Woods house veranda becoming a portable Pizza Kitchen by utilising our small pizza ovens, fresh herbs from the garden, whilst our bands / musical ensembles perform.”
Murray Phyland – Head of Community Service (K-12)

Our Working Bees are essential for the maintenance of our spectacular garden and are a great way to get to make new friends. Help us present the garden in its best possible light for upcoming events for students and the community.

Enjoy an active day pruning, replanting seedlings, sprucing garden beds, tidying the chicken pen, fish pond and hot house as well as setting up the verandah for pizza ovens and special events.
