When to Enrol

In partnership with your family, our enrolment process, including an interview, enables us to explore whether our School can meet the needs of your child and your family. It also helps ensure that we can support a successful transition into St Michael’s for your child. Please note, the enrolment interview is not a guarantee of a place at the School.

Our orientation is designed to ensure the best possible transition, and may vary depending on the individual needs of your child and when they start.

Our principal entry years at Kindergarten, Prep, Year 5 and Year 7, however places may be available in other years so always feel free to make an enquiry. Please contact the Student Enrolment Team prior to submitting an application, particularly for Senior School, where places are extremely limited.

St Michael’s is an inclusive and diverse school, and we are committed to a true coeducational experience. In some cohorts, we may not be able to progress an application due to the gender balance. We have a cap on enrolments at every year level based on extensive analysis of our campus, desired class sizes and our approach to teaching and learning. We will not enrol above that cap, ensuring the best learning experience for your child.

We do recommend applying early, as positions on the waitlist are placed in application date order. Our enrolment process commences two years prior to intake.  If you receive an offer and choose to defer, we cannot guarantee a future place.
