At St Michael’s we believe children are extraordinarily curious, creative and capable, and we respect and value each child’s ideas and opinions.
Our Early Learning educators observe, listen and research alongside the child, encouraging each one to be inquirers, to wonder and pose questions.
I love learning … we learn from each other. I wonder how people learn on their own? It’s funny how people learn, like, how did the first person learn? Who taught them things? How did they know to do stuff?Alessandra (4 Year Old Kindergarten Student, 2017)
With a commitment to the values of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project, our learning is inquiry-driven. We teach for understanding, believing that learning is a social experience and that knowledge is constructed with others and the environment.
Our values of Dignity, Respect, Care and Compassion are central to learning, and our Kindergarten learners become aware of these values through exploring and developing positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging.
A Kindergarten is a place where you learn to be kind. I love learning with my friends and my teachers. I feel happy here.Theo (4 Year Old Kindergarten student)
