St Michael’s Grammar School runs programs that are approved for Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebates (CCR). These services are Before School Care, After School Care, Holiday Program and all Margaret Thomas House services. This means that eligible parents can claim CCB and CCR from the Department of Human Services (Centrelink).
To receive Child Care Rebate, you must first be assessed for Child Care Benefit (even at a zero rate). Child Care Benefit is based on your income and is different for everyone. Child Care Rebate is paid in addition to Child Care Benefit and covers 50 per cent of out-of-pocket child care expenses, up to a maximum amount per child per year.
Once you have requested to be assessed for CCB and CCR (only required once, no matter how many child care services your child attends), to be able to claim you must ensure that the School is reporting child care information electronically to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) for your child.
In order to so, the School needs to provide DEEWR with the CRN (customer reference number) provided by the Department of Human Services (Centrelink) and the date of birth for the parent claiming and child.
Please ensure that the School has this information by logging in and checking the My Family Pages under the Community Directory located on the School’s Services.
