On Friday 1 November 2024 more than 120 past staff, returned to the School for an inaugural Past Staff Reunion, involving a Remembrance Service and Reception.
Joined by current long serving staff, the Remembrance Service, led by Father Kenyon McKie, was an opportunity to reflect on former colleagues who are no longer with us. This included Michelle Bourrillon who passed away in July this year. Michelle’s family also attended the Service. Of course, we also remembered our crossing guard, Terry Bux, whose death in September impacted us all. It was an opportunity to give thanks for their contribution to our School.
The rendition of the School Hymn was especially rousing as everyone joined in with great enthusiasm. Following the Service there was time to catch up with old friends and reminisce. It was a sign of their deep affection for the School that many of those in attendance had taught at St Michael’s more than twenty years ago. And a credit to our School that we have ‘graduated’ so many superb educators and highly regarded educational leaders.
