The annual Years 10–12 play provides an ideal opportunity for students to hone their dramatic abilities. By taking key roles in all aspects of this pivotal production, students develop their skills within a professional environment.

This year’s production is the iconic Oscar Wilde comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest. Described by Wilde as ‘A trivial comedy for serious people’, it was first performed in 1895 at St James’s Theatre in London. In this farcical comedy, the protagonists maintain fictitious personæ to escape burdensome social obligations. Its high farce and witty dialogue have helped make The Importance of Being Earnest Wilde’s most enduringly popular play.
